HARVARD
FORWARD
In the 1980s, alumni successfully ran petition candidates for the Harvard Board of Overseers to push Harvard to divest from apartheid-era South Africa and become more socially responsible.
Over three decades later, alumni still want the same things from Harvard:
leadership & accountability in facing the biggest challenges of our time.
That's why we're building upon their legacy by working to elect 3 recent alumnae to the Board of Overseers, whose fresh perspectives and inspiring leadership will help move Harvard forward.
WHAT IS HARVARD FORWARD?
We're a campaign created by concerned alumni. We're working to elect three candidates to the Harvard Board of Overseers in 2021 on a platform that pushes Harvard to demonstrate bold leadership and live up to its ideals. This includes:
1.
Becoming a climate leader through divestment from fossil fuels, climate education and research, and on-campus sustainability initiatives.
2.
Tackling racial injustice through our educational programs, university-wide anti-racism initiatives, and divestment from the prison-industrial complex.
3.
Aligning our investments with our values by creating more transparent and robust socially responsible investment guidelines.
4.
Making our governance more inclusive by increasing representation of recent alumni and giving a voice to students, workers, and faculty.
